Get the size right, and the frame is easy.

Store-bought frames come in standard sizes, measured by the inside opening. Here's which print sizes fit them, and what each shop charges to ship.

Society6: standard sizes, set prices

Society6 sets the same price for every artist by size: posters are $15 at 9x12, $20 at 12x16 and $35 at 18x24; art prints start at $30 for 8x10 and $45 for 11x14. Art print sizes include a white border.

Redbubble: sizes follow the artwork

Redbubble sizes its prints to each artwork's shape, with a white border of one to two inches, so only some sizes match a standard frame. On the artists page, every size says whether it fits a standard frame or needs a custom one. Posters come in sizes like 11.7 by 16.5 inches, which don't match standard US frames. Shipping shows in the cart.

Three frame tips

Buy the frame by the print's paper size. Frames are sold by their inside opening, so a 12x16 print goes in a 12x16 frame.
Want a mat? Buy a frame one size up with a mat cut for your print size.
Hang one centerpiece at eye level and build the smaller prints around it, a few inches apart.
